Kira's New Years Greeting 2026

January 2026

New Year 2026 Greeting

I am sitting here in my favourite forest just after sunrise, welcoming 2026. I enjoy being in nature to greet the New Year, sensing and feeling what may arise in the year ahead. I suspect that uncertainty will be in abundance this year! Initially this may bring frustration and fear to the surface in the beginning of the year – individually and collectively. There may be events and circumstances that challenge us, that bring us into deeper experiences of vulnerability. Perhaps some situations may arise that rupture/shake our understanding of ourselves and our world. I am sure we will have significant moments of questioning “what the … is really happening” as events unfold.

Yet I also sense and feel that if we listen, gently allowing space for vulnerability, not knowing, we will also see glimpses of new beginnings. It may only be short flashes. A hint. Almost as if it is just a dream or imagination. Take notice of these moments as they may indeed be a peek into the future to come.

These wee glimpses of the future can remind us that uncertainty is not something to be fearful of. They can help us to stay hopeful and openminded.

It can be easy to slip into polarising narratives and take a position on events, people or situations - to get lost down rabbit holes of anxiety and fear. Can we stay open, breathe, feel vulnerable and potentially see truths more clearly – beyond our normal conditioned perspectives?

I do feel that this year will challenge us to see through complexity and encourage us to identify with simplicity – to remember our own and others humanity.

I know for myself how deeply touching it is to be truly seen — not for what I do, what I have done, or what I appear to be — but who I really am. I think we all long for that. We all respond to being deeply seen. When I feel how healing that is, I wonder: what might evolve if we take a little more time — take that extra breath, exhale— and allow ourselves to see one another on that deeper, ordinary, human level? To meet each other beyond political beliefs, positions, conditioning, or religious views, whatever separates us — simply meeting each other honestly.

As we navigate this year with the divisive scenarios that may happen can we be open to being more empathic? To be gentler with ourselves and each other. Be open to imagining ourselves in the shoes of another, stepping into their version of complexity and challenges that may be driving their behaviour and actions – to sense/feel their reality? Can we then further deepen into compassion and kindness and act from this wider perspective?

This widening of perspective invites us to listen – deeply – and in some cases to step into action. Action and making choices that may run counter to the norm, that may feel uncomfortable, even isolating – yet encouraging. I have seen how responding to inner wisdom can quietly inspire others, offering permission for them to step forward in their own way, in their own time.

Be a light for yourself and others this year.

As our year progresses, when we look around in the wider world it may feel disheartening to see what is happening, and at times, what is not happening! Some situations may be heartbreaking. And I imagine we may have further occurrences that will invoke intensity – can we be open to this intensity being a ripe environment for wisdom, clarity, unexpected possibilities to arise? Potential futures we could not previously imagine beginning to take shape?

Can we invest in staying open, rather than closing our minds and hearts? I do know that it is not easy. The weight of what is happening can feel overwhelming. And still — can we take that extra breath? Can we allow deeper insight to emerge alongside compassion and kindness?

In 2026, I intend to keep inviting myself to see more deeply into the lives of others — their complexity, their unseen layers — without negating my own reality. To hold the possibility that many realities can coexist and evolve in ways my current mind cannot comprehend.

I want to leave space for the magic of what I cannot yet see — to perceive aspects of people and situations that may not yet have emerged or been revealed.

Being open to complexity and intensity also being the quiet ground from which something new is beginning to grow.

Sitting here in this beautiful forest, I’m surrounded by diversity — all of it coexisting. It makes me wonder how we might find that same essence within ourselves: that spark of common ground, even as we remain profoundly different. Can we allow the differences? Can we even appreciate them, as we do in a forest where diversity brings richness — the plants, the animals, those just beginning life and those nearing its end – the full circle.

Every part matters. Can we let ourselves simply be?

We are hardwired for connection. Kindness and compassion are natural - if we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, to feel. Can we let more of that be present this year — within ourselves and between us?

Instead of jumping to a negative conclusion, amplifying fear and anxiety can we instead be open to unexpected possibilities, allowing space for pathways that may lead somewhere we never imagined possible? To see that maybe this is an invitation to quiet magic?

Perhaps the most important practice I feel is gentleness. To pause before jumping to conclusions. To leave room for what we cannot yet see. It feels healthy to hold hope — for a better world, a better life, for ourselves and for humanity.

My wish for all of us this year is gentleness. May inner wisdom rise. May we remain open-hearted and grounded in reality, responding as best we can with kindness and compassion. And perhaps, amid the intensity and the craziness, we can remember to smile — to let laughter and joy weave their way through it all.

So, my friends, as you travel through 2026, may you travel well. Wishing you strength for the challenges, openness for the unknown, and warmth for the journey. Perhaps our paths will cross, perhaps not — and that’s okay too.

Thank you for sharing in my New Year reflections. Wishing you a truly beautiful year ahead.

Much love to you all … Kira 💗
